This section of trail heads almost directly north to Yellow Creek Gap on County Road 1242. The only shelter along this route is the Brown Fork Gap Shelter.<br />
This trail highlights some beautiful ridge top views and scenic, peaceful woods. Although this trail is moderate there are some short, steep climbs. <br />

From Robbinsville, head east a couple miles on NC highway 143 to the trail crossing near Stecoah Gap. From Bryson City, take US 19/74 West to NC 28. Take NC 28 north, turn left onto NC highway 143 (west) to trail crossing.
